Its that time to share the next update in the Building a House series! The first post mainly included all of the framing and watching our house get off the ground. Now we’re into the exterior finishes and the insides. Everything is coming together from exterior stone to counter tops. Counter tops were the hardest, but most exciting, decision for us since you only see them in small sample forms, it was hard for me to visualize how they’d look in the entire kitchen. I’m keeping our choice a secret until the finished product is installed, but below you can see what we narrowed it down to.
Seeing our farmhouse sink installed was already like a dream come true. This was a hefty add-on that I couldn’t justify at first, even though it was probably the thing I named first as a “must have” when we decided we were going to build a home. Then I saw the price tag and almost threw up. Will convinced me we should go for it since it made me so happy and it would be a focal point of our kitchen. I couldn’t be happier so far! As you can see, the cabinet cut out is ready for our double oven that we ended up going with. We debated back and forth about a double oven versus single oven and convection microwave, but we gave in.
Right now they’re projecting a completion date of the day after Christmas! We pushed it back a week since we travel that week for the Holidays! I can’t believe it!! Below are photos from November 3, 2017 through December 3, 2017.
We saw our very first snow at the new house!!
