Bumpdate – 20 Weeks

I CAN NOT BELIEVE WE ARE HALFWAY THROUGH THIS PREGNANCY. That also means we’re that much closer to meeting our baby girl. That’s terrifying and exciting for this first time mom. This pregnancy has flown by it seems like, but then again it feels like I’ve been pregnant forever. It changes day by day.

Bumpdate - 20 Weeks

The most exciting thing that’s happened since we announced our pregnancy a month ago is going through the anatomy scan and officially finding out the gender! We also got to see all of baby’s growing body parts and see a few 3D images (which are semi creepy). And ICYMI, we’re having a baby girl!

The pregnancy is definitely getting more real as I’m starting to see physical changes. My bump is close to popping, so hopefully I’ll actually start to look pregnant instead of just looking like I packed on extra winter weight. I love hearing baby’s heartbeat at every doctor’s appointment. She’s the size of a banana this week – roughly 10.1 ounces and 6.50 inches!

I feel great! It’s amazing the 180 that exists between the first and second trimester. I took my first plane ride, which I was terrified of because of the whole needing to pee every 5 minutes thing, but I think I did alright. I didnt use the airplane bathroom ONCE! Granted it was super short flight to Charleston. We’ll see how I do on the next few flights I have in the coming months.

I’m finally able to incorporate greens back into my diet without cringing and I’ve actually been craving greens, which isn’t like me. I’ve been trying to do a smoothie in the morning and a salad for lunch – it isn’t daily, but better than what I could handle in the first trimester. I’ve also been craving coffee! If you know me, I’ve never really been a coffee drinker, I’ve been more of a tea sipper, but I’ve even been incorporating cold brew coffee into my morning smoothie.

My bump is out to say hello! And I definitely am noticing some extra love around common problem areas, which I’m not loving, but I keep telling myself I’m creating a barrier for the baby haha. I’ve still been trying to get to pure barre weekly and I’ve incorporated some peloton workouts. My body is totally not used to cardio, so that’s been a little tough, but I’m working my way up. AND my skin is SO dry! I’ve been layering on the moisturizers.

For most of the first trimester I lived in sweats and baggy sweaters because winter. But now that I’m starting to grow, I’ve noticed the tighter clothes actually make me feel better about my body. I feel like they’re accenuating what shape I do still have. So I have a ton of cute dresses ready to wear for when this weather ever decides to cooperate. Until then I’ve been living in form fitting t-shirts and a jean jacket or cardigan. And maternity leggings are gold. I’ve been loving the Ingrid and Isabel line at Nordstrom – these have been my favorite so far.

These Vince Slip Ons have been a god send. They are definitely pricey and not what I would normally spend on a sneaker, but they came in my Trunk Club and the second I tried them on I didnt want to take them off. I wore them this past weekend in Charleston and they saved my feet, which have been killing me due to new weight proportions. My heels have been no joke, but these slides make me feel like I’m walking on clouds.

The nursery. I can’t make my mind up on a crib and a rocker to save my life. I love the options at PB Kids, but I hate that they don’t offer customer reviews and the items are non-returnable. I think we’ll be taking a trip to the physical store this weekend to check some things out, but I also hate being limited to a store selection. ALSO – the registry. I think I’m almost done, but the stroller is giving me palpitations. They’re so expensive, especially if you want it to be able to convert into a double for a second kid. Hopefully we’ll bite the bullet and nail these things down in the next week and they’ll stop looming over me and taking my sleep.

Well that’s it for now guys, I’m going to try and keep this updated weekly for those of you who are interested {here’s lookin at you, mom ;)}
