Being a Baltimore resident for 10+ years, I think I’ve earned the title of ‘Local’ and I’ve never been so proud to be one. Outsiders don’t typically see the charm of Baltimore. When outsiders think Baltimore, they likely think crime and poverty, but I guarantee they also know Mr. Boh. If you’ve ever been to a Baltimore Orioles game, you see Mr. Boh walking around, you see Natty Boh in the liquor store and if you visit Baltimore, you see him lit up atop the Natty Boh Tower in Brewers Hill.

Well this year, Mr. Boh and his team are releasing its first new brew in 30 years! I’d say that’s something locals and outsiders can get on the same page about.

If you know me, you know that I’m pregnant and I’m missing alcohol A LOT. So when I was asked to try out the new brew, Crab Shack Shandy, I had serious FOMO, but knew Will would be totally game.
This blog post is sponsored by Natty Boh; however, all opinions are my (or my husband’s) own.

With the weather slightly warmer this weekend, we decided to fire up our new grill – Will with shandy in hand and me eating for two. Will immediately licked his lips after the first sip and said it tasted like “summer.” That’s all I needed to hear to know this will be a staple in our home come August when this little babe makes her debut.

Despite the name, the citrus brew doesn’t contain any ‘crab spice’ AKA Old Bay, but is just meant to go with the seasonal summer seafood fare that Maryland is known for. Typical shandy’s also mix in lemonade, but Natty Boh has stated their Crab Shack Shandy doesn’t include lemonade since they are aware a lot of consumers already mix lemonade with the original Natty Boh. At 4.2 percent alcohol by volume, National Bohemian’s shandy is slightly less alcoholic than the 4.5 percent ABV original. The shandy is a golden-colored, light-bodied lager with prominent notes of orange peel and lemon zest.

So let’s all crack a shandy in order to convince Mother Nature to bring on the warmer temperatures – worst case, we’ll have to just pretend. Crab Shack Shandy is available in 6 and 12 packs through the end of the summer!
