Put On Something Pretty

Who else is a creature of the weather? The mid-60s last week were a huge tease, I had neverbeenso thrilled to put my big coat away. However, the weekend finally arrives and it’s cold, rainy and just plain dreary. I was more than ready to stay in and finally finish up deciding between thirteen sets of flatware for our registry – why are there SO many?? But then Will convinced me to get myself together and not let the rain ruin our time off. Since he knows the way to my heart – he suggested putting on something pretty and going out for food.

So I dug into my second Rocksbox that I received this week and my mood instantly started lifting. I received some gorgeous pieces this time around; I’m learning the stylist really listens to the feedback. Don’t forget if you want to get a free month of Rocksbox – use code “neverbeensoxoxo”!

This month’s pieces:
Soko Chain Dangle Choker
Gorjana Greer V-Neck Necklace
Loren Hope Sophia Studs in Neon Yellow

If you haven’t noticed, I’m super into chokers and collars this season. So I paired the Gorjana Greer V-Neck Necklace with the Minimal Metal Collar from Bauble Bar, which they are calling a BB Essential. I also threw on these studs from Brightside Boutique and was ready to get my chow on.

So, if you are feeling down this weekend as a result of the weather – put on something pretty, eat something good and turn your mood around. It’ll be warm soon enough – hopefully.

Sale Alert: Sperry Shearwater Duck Boots

Recently, I shared duck boots I found at Target that were a fraction of the price of the coveted L.L Beans [but as expected, of lesser quality]. However, during my recent Nordstrom Rack hunt, I scored a pair of Sperry Shearwater Duck Boots for almost half the price of the original and of exponentially better quality than those at Target.

I debated the idea of whether I needed them, but the second I put them on and discovered how much more comfortable they were than those at Target, it was a no-brainer. The Sperry’s look much more durable and snuggle my feet like a warm glove.  For only $79.97 |originally $150|, which is only $30 more than those at Target, they’ve neverbeenso worth it!

Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Target and if I didn’t find the Sperry’s at such a great price, I’d be happy with that pair, but for any of you duck boot hunters, I had to share!

I plan to live in these boots for the rest of winter (and spring time too!)! Paired with cozy sweaters, fleece-lined leggings and these leopard leather gloves, it may not be so bad |fingers crossed|.

Styling Blacks and Browns

I used to be so anti styling blacks and browns together, but now I can’t get enough of it! These Chelsea boots are my favorite shoes for doing so, as they already embrace the duo of colors and make any outfit complete! Not to mention they’re uber comfy!

I paired them with this ivory quilted jacket and the look came together beautifully! This anthro jacket is over 65% off! It’s no longer available online, but I’ve seen mass quantities of them in two stores, so if you have one close, check it out! It runs super big so I went with an XS and it’s still slouchy and cozy! Culotte Comeback

I have to say when I first started seeing culottes pop up, I instantly thought of gauchos and was reminded of my unhealthy (and regretful) obsession with wet seal – oh, college. However, the more I saw the styling of culottes, the more into them I became.

According to Wikipedia, culottes made their first appearance  “in France during the reign of Henry III (1574–1589).” 400+ years later, I find myself donning the same as these stylish Frenchmen.

I nabbed a pair from H&M [for only $14.99] and let’s just say, this may be a new (hopefully healthy) obsession. During the warm spell last week, I decided to try them out – neverbeenso comfortable! They have the great convertible aspect of a wide leg pant, without the hassle of having to wear heels high enough to avoid floor drags. Paired with a pair of flat booties to keep it casual enough for day or night. Paired with a baggy sweater, they also work in winter. Hell, they’re great for every season! So stock up while they’re on sale!

I could write an entire post with some of my favorites (keep an eye out for that one), but for now I’ll just share these beauts! Links below!

Gold Sequin is Always a Good Idea

Especially when it’s on sale! Gold sequin shouldn’t come alive only on New Years Eve! Make it a part of your every day and people will sure to notice your sparkle. This blazer is on SALE at South Moon Under for $50! Pair it with basic blacks and prepare to shine!

On Target #ootd

I am a BIG advocate for Target. I’m normally there to run errands anyway, so it’s often easy for me to run to the clothing department and pick up a piece or two to match with what I have at home. This look is entirely from Target and under $85 (these high-waisted pants?? yes, neverbeenso impressed)! Links below.

Look For Less: Duck Boots

I’ve wanted duck boots for awhile now, but every time I’ve gone to order them from L.L. Bean , they’re out of stock. Well no surprise, this Holiday season. My mom went to order them for me as a Christmas gift, and we were shocked that the arrive date was March 2016. I understand they are hand-made and for that reason, take extra time to create. However, that doesn’t mean I want to wait until March of next year for an item that I order now.

I finally told myself, I just wasn’t getting duck boots again this year. UNTIL, I was walking in Target yesterday, and saw a pair! I had to do a double-take because from far away they looked the exact same as the ones I’ve been pining after. I figured as I got close I would notice the problem. But there wasn’t one. Sure, they aren’t the same caliber of quality, but they’re also $50 cheaper and you can have them RIGHT NOW. If you’re using them mainly for fashion, it’s a no-brainer. I have a pair of sturdy hiking boots I wouldn’t trade for the world, so those are my go-tos for any type of trekking. I tried them on and they looked great!

FYI: I’m usually a 7.5 and the 7 fit me well. The 8 was a little too big.

So, why spend $100+ on duck boots, when you can get this pair at Target now for $50! They also have different styles and colors!

Rainy Monday #OOTD

Rainy Monday. Nothing a few great accessories can’t fix. I’ve been obsessing over the Swell bottles for some time now, but I couldn’t pull the trigger on just one style (there are so many!). But for my birthday this week, Will pulled the trigger for me and got the adorable Grapefruit Linen from the Textile Collection. It’s been glued to my hands all weekend.

Baltimore is full of beautiful craftsmanship as seen in the picture below. Look at this combination of various bricks, wood & metal. Alone they are scraps, but together they tell a story. Brands below.
